The second weekend of the Fall Parade of Homes features nearly 70 newly built homes in the Sioux Falls area. The homes are on display from 1-5 pm today and Sunday. Mondays hours are from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. It costs $5 to see the Feature Home. All other homes are free to see.
As part of National Seat Check Saturday, you can get your child's car seat inspected for free. The seat check goes from 9-11 am at Billion Hyundai Mazda located at 41st and Westport in Sioux Falls. Nationally, nine out of ten child safety seats are used incorrectly.
Original Native American art is on display and for sale at the Northern Plains Indian Art Market at the Ramkota Hotel Exhibit Hall in Sioux Falls. Today's hours are from 10 am to 6 pm. Sunday's hours are from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is $5. Free for kids under 12. The event also includes a free Traditional Pow Wow and Buffalo Feed in the Armory Building of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. The pow wow grand entries are at 1 & 7 pm. The buffalo feed is at 5 pm.
The Bye Week Bash is a benefit for patients and families served at Avera Cancer Institute. The bash begins at 6 pm at Fresh Horses Saloon in Harrisburg. The evening includes live music, a silent auction and a beef raffle.
Bark in the Park is a dog-athon fundraiser for the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. Registration for the 2K walk & 4K run is at 9 am at Spencer Park. The walking & running begin at 10 am. Registration is $20. All pets are welcome.
The Buddy Walk promotes acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome. The event goes from 10 am to 1 pm at Sertoma Park in Sioux Falls. Music, entertainment and lunch follows the walk. The cost is $25 a family.
The annual AIDS Walk Sioux Falls raises money for the AIDS Benevolence Fund. The 2-mile walk and 5K run begins at 9 am at Pasley Park. The cost is a $25 donation.
The Great Akron Scarecrow Festival features crafter & vendor booths, food, kids activities and a scarecrow decorating contest with $600 in prizes. The festival goes from 10 am to 4 pm at the Akron, IA City Park.
The Dakota Marketplace at First United Methodist Church is a mission to feed the hungry locally and globally. The marketplace goes from 9 am to 2 pm and includes a live auction, specialty auction, craft bazaar, farmers market and bake sale. First United Methodist is located at 401 S. Spring in Sioux Falls.
