The 2013 Eastern South Dakota Heart Walk is a non-competitive 1-mile and 3-mile walk in Sioux Falls. The fundraiser for the American Heart Association gets underway at 8 am at Falls Park. The event includes a Heart Walk Festival that features free blood pressure screenings, kids activities and refreshments.

Spirited drumming, singing and dancing are all part of a pow wow in Ft. Thompson. The Crow Creek Sioux Tribe's annual wacipi is today and Sunday. The pow wow also marks the 150th anniversary of the founding of Ft. Thompson.

Pheasant Fest in Plankinton, SD includes a farmers market & craft fair from 8-11 am on the courthouse lawn; a kiddie parade on Main Street beginning at 10 am; lawn mower races at 1 pm, an all-you-can-eat pheasant feed starts at 6 pm followed by a street dance at 8:30 pm with music by Undercover. Tickets for the day cost $20 for ages 11 and up.

The Farmers Market at Callaway's east of 69th & Minnesota goes from 7:30 am to 1 pm. The Eastbank Farmers Market is taking place in the parking lot of the 8th & Railroad Center from 8 am to 1 pm.
