Saturday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     You can see several screenings of the award-winning movie Tornado Alley and meet director Sean Casey today at the Washington Pavilion.
     The film will be show hourly throughout the day at the Wells Fargo CineDome.
     At 10 am, there will be a storm chasing and severe weather seminar hosted by KELOLAND meteorologists Scot Mundt and Brian Karstens in the Belbas Theater.
     Casey will be available for a question and answer session.
     Tornado Alley is playing at the CineDome through August.

     Former Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton is the special guest narrator during the Gift of Hope Concert  at the O'Gorman Performing Arts Center.
     The multi-media musical performances featuring inspiring stories of help and healing are at 3 & 7 pm.
     Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors.
     The concerts are a fundraiser for Catholic Family Services.

     Renowned photographer Paul Horsted visits the Outdoor Campus in Sioux Falls to present a slideshow of his new book Yellowstone Yesterday & Today.
     The presentation goes from 2-3 pm with a book signing to follow.
     Seating is limited, so call 605-362-2777 to pre-register.
     The Outdoor Campus is located at Sertoma Park.

     Taxidermists from several states and all skill levels are taking part in the South Dakota State Taxidermy Competition.
     It's at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Sioux Falls from 9 am to 5 pm.
     You can vote for your favorite entry.
     The People's Choice Award will be given out tonight.

     A night of old-fashioned Hollywood glamour is all part of the fun during a Gala to benefit the American Cancer Society.
     The gala gets underway at 6 pm at the Sioux Falls Convention Center beginning with the public walking the red carpet at a reception, followed by an elegant dinner and awards show.

     Enjoy Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Southern Hills United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.
     The breakfast goes from 10 am to noon and includes games, prizes crafts and an Easter egg hunt.
     Tickets are $5, parents get in free.
     Southern Hills United Methodist is located at 3400 East 49th Street.

     Calvary Cathedral in downtown Sioux Falls is hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt  from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
     Lunch will also be provided.
     Calvary Cathedral is located at 14th & Main.

     The Sioux Empire Lions Club is hosting it's 12th annual Spaghetti Dinner and Live Auction from 4:30 to 7 pm at Active Generations.
     Tickets are $5 for adults, $20 for the whole family.
     Active Generations is located at 2300 West 46th Street in Sioux Falls.
