A rain forest has sprouted at the Sioux Falls Convention Center this weekend.
Bixby's Inflatable Rainforest features stage shows, inflatable rides and live animal encounters to show kids the importance of going green.
The Rainforest is open from 10 am to 5 pm today and Sunday.
Admission is $10, children 1 year of age and under are free.
The annual Marquette Council Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship takes place at the O'Gorman Junior High School gym.
Registration is at 10 am.
The competition begins at 10:30 am.
It's open to boys and girls between the ages of 10-14.
All participants need a parent or guardian signature on their entry form.
It's a Snow Day! features children's entertainer Phil Baker at the O'Gorman High School Performing Arts Center.
The benefit for Children's Care Hospital & School goes from 10:30-11:30 am and features music, magic and interactive fun.
Admission is $5, free for ages 15 and under.
Frosty Frolics is a weekend of winter sports activities sponsored by Sioux Falls Parks and Rec.
Today's events include a Penguin Run at Spencer Park at 9 am.
That's followed by sleigh rides provided by McCrossan Boys Ranch at Spencer Park from 11 am to 1 pm.
An ice fishing derby at Family Park goes from 10 am to 2 pm.
There will be a guided snowshoe tour at Great Bear Recreation Park from 1-3 pm.
Take part in cross-country skiing from 3-5 pm at Harmodon Park.
Memorial ice rink is hosting several events including a curling demonstration from 4-5 pm; youth hockey and a figure skating workshop from 5-6 pm; the Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club performs from 6-7 pm and there will be a luminary skate from 6-9 pm.
A Beautiful Education is a fundraiser to set up a scholarship in memory of Karla Kuyper through Stewart's School of Hair Design.
It's at Shenanigans Pub at the Empire Mall from 2:30 to 9 pm.
The event includes a raffle, silent auction and live music.
The grand prize is a trip for two to Hawaii.
