Saturday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     Step back in time to the very first Christmas with a visit to First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.
     The annual Streets of Bethlehem and Live Nativity has expanded to two days.
     A musical celebration of the birth of Jesus will be held at 2 pm today.
     The Streets of Bethlehem and the Marketplace will be open from 3-5 pm today and 5-7 pm Sunday.
     Hot drinks and treats will be served in the Round Table Dining Room both days.
     First United Methodist is located at 401 S. Spring.

     A Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day will be held at the Elks Lodge in Yankton.
     SDSU history professor Thomas Agostini is the guest speaker.
     World War II veteran Harold Reinschmidt is the special guest.
     It costs $15 for the dinner which starts at 6 pm.    
     The program follows at 7 pm.

     Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is hosting Christmas for Kids.
     Children will learn the Christmas story, do crafts, sing songs and eat lunch.
     The free event runs from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
     Good Shepherd Lutheran is located at 57th and Southeastern.

     The Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club are hosting Breakfast With Santa from 9-11 am at the Harrisburg Fire Station.
     The free pancake breakfast includes a visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus.

     Fibber McGee's Decor & Coffee in Harrisburg is hosting a Holiday Open House from 9 am to 5 pm.
     Survivor contestant Holly Hoffman will be signing copies of her book from 11 am to 1 pm.
     Fibber McGee's is located 3 miles south of 69th and Cliff.

     Be part of the volunteer effort to make fleece blankets during the 7th annual Project Warm-Up.
     The event goes from 11 am to 4 pm at Edison Middle School.
     The blankets will be donated to children in-need throughout Sioux Falls.

     The Sioux Empire Red Cross is partnering with Lloyd Companies and Dakota Dermatology to wrap gifts this holiday season.
     For a donation of just a few dollars, you can have your gifts wrapped at the CNA Surety lobby from 10 am to 8 pm.
     Drop off your presents and receive a special voucher redeemable at Josiah's, Monk's and Fall's Landing.
     The Red Cross Wrapping Station is open Thursdays and Saturdays through December 22nd.    
     CNA Surety is located west of the 8th and Railroad Center.

     Santa Claus is visiting the Great Plains Zoo today from 10 am to noon.
     Kids can get their pictures taken with Santa and enjoy cookies and apple cider with Mrs. Claus.
     The Zootopia gift shop is offering holiday discounts through Christmas Eve.
     The gift shop is open from 10 am to 4 pm.

     A benefit for cancer patient Amy Goembel will be held at The Liebrary bar from noon to 4 pm.
     The benefit includes raffles, a silent auction and a flip cup tournament.
     The Liebrary bar is located at 5108 S. Marion in Sioux Falls.
