Saturday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     Get in on the fun of Zumba and raise awareness about pancreatic cancer.
     A Zumbathon will be held at Celebration Church in Brandon from 10 am to noon.
     There will also be raffle items and door prizes.
     The cost is $20 with all proceeds going to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

     Goodwill Industries is hosting it 38th annual Thanksgiving Dinner.
     The free dinner is open to the public and will be served from 11 am to 2 pm at the South Dakota Achieve Training Center located at 4100 South Western Avenue in Sioux Falls.

     The St. Nicholas Parish Bazaar features craft and vendor items, a bake sale and concessions.    
     The bazaar is open from 9 am to 2:30 pm.
     The parish is located at 140 West Brian Street in Tea, SD.

     David Jal and Laura K. Jacobs will read and talk about their new children's book David's Journey, at 3 pm at the Main Branch of Siouxland Libraries in downtown Sioux Falls.
     David is one of the Lost Boys of Sudan.
     Copies of the book will be for sale with all proceeds going to David's efforts to build a school in South Sudan.

     Check out model train layouts from throughout the region during this weekend's Trains at Christmas in the Expo Building at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.
     It goes from 10 am to 5 pm today, 11 am to 4 pm Sunday
     Admission is $4 for adults, free for kids under 12.

     Falls Park has been converted into a Winter Wonderland for the holidays.
     The park will display holiday lights every night through January 6th.
     There are also free trolley rides each Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm.
     The visitors center is open from 10 am to 10 pm weekends.

     The Stampede hockey team takes on the Dubuque Fighting Saints at the Sioux Falls Arena.
     The puck drops at 7:05 pm.
     Tickets start at $8.

     The Winter Farmers Market includes fresh garden vegetables, breads and other baked goods, canned goods, jewelry and Christmas wreaths.
     The farmers market is open from 10 am to 1 pm at the 8th and Railroad Center in Sioux Falls.

     The Pipestone Gun Show features tables of guns, knives and accessories, plus breakfast and lunch specials.
     The gun show is at National Guard Armory, located at 421 Second Avenue in Pipestone, Minnesota.
     Today's hours are from 9 am to 5 pm.
     Sunday's hours are from 9 am to 3 pm.
     Admission is $4, free for kids 12 and under.

     Check out the holiday trimmings at the Festival of Trees at the Avera Prairie Center at 23rd & Cliff in Sioux Falls.
     The hours are from 10 am to 3 pm.
     Your free will donation will go to Southeastern Behavioral HealthCare.
