Saturday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     The World's Largest Truck Convoy is a one-day celebration with the Law Enforcement Torch Run that helps raise funding for Special Olympics South Dakota.
     The convoy leaves the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds at 10:15 am, following a route that goes from Russell to Minnesota Avenue, to I-229/I-29 north to the Madison Street exit and back to the fairgrounds.
     A Truck & Car Show follows from 11:30 am to 4 pm.
     An auction, raffle and award presentation take place in the afternoon.

     The Sanford Fieldhouse is hosting an Open House and Ultimate Sports Day to celebrate the opening of the new sports facility in Sioux Falls.
     The open house goes from 2-6 pm.
     Athletes of all ages are invited to tour the facility, take part in friendly sports challenges, enjoy a meal and music with family and enter drawings for prizes.
     The Fieldhouse is located at the Sanford Sports Complex near Benson Road and Westport Avenue.

     Dakota Marketplace at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls is a benefit for hunger projects locally and globally.
     The marketplace is open from 9 am to 3 pm and includes a craft bazaar, farmer's market, bake sale, mission fair, plus live and silent auctions.
     First United Methodist is located at 401 S. Spring Avenue.
     
      The Sisseton-Wahpeton-Oyate Community Memorial Park is hosting a grand opening that includes live music, a carnival, a painted horse parade, basketball, volleyball, moccasin games, plus a barbeque and chili cook-off.
     Activities begin at 9 am.

     More than 65 new homes are featured in the Fall Parade of Homes this weekend and next weekend in Sioux Falls.
     The hours are 1-5 pm today and Sunday.
     Monday's hours are from 5:30-8:30 pm.
     All the homes are free to see except you're asked to make a $6 donation to tour the two Feature Homes.
     The proceeds benefit the Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation.

     World Market is celebrating Oktoberfest with a free Wine Tasting from 1-4 pm.
     World Market is located at 2804 South Louise in Sioux Falls.
