Saturday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     Enjoy a day of family fun, live music, carnival rides and agriculture activities at the Sioux Empire Fair running through August 12th at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.
     A Siouxper Pass is good for free gate admission to the fair plus unlimited rides.
     It's a $300 value for only $60.
     The Siouxper Passes are available at all Sioux Falls Walgreens and Hy-Vee stores through Sunday.

     The South Dakota Knights of Columbus Charity Golf Tournament is at the Northern Links Golf Course in Renner.
     The 9-hole, four-person scramble costs $40 per golfer.
     Registration is at 7 and 9:30 am.
     Proceeds go The Banquet, South Dakota Veterans Administration Hospitals, St. Francis House and the South Dakota KC Disaster Fund.

     Jasper Quartziter Days in Jasper, MN include a 5K Run/Walk at 8 am, a craft show at 10 am, a free hot dog feed at 2 pm, a pet parade at 3 pm and a Great Plains Tractor Pull at 5 pm.

     Tonight's free Moonlight Movie is Up, rated PG.
     The movie begins at dusk in Fawick Park in downtown Sioux Falls.
     Refreshments will be sold during the movie.

      Members of Ransom Church will wash your car for a dollar today from 1-4 pm.
     The car washes are at two locations: in the Best Buy parking lot at 1st National Bank on West 41st Street and at CorTrust Bank on South Minnesota Avenue.

     Enjoy a free lunch at the Great Plains Zoo as it hosts Hy-Vee Day at the Zoo, from 11 am to 2 pm. 
     Lunch, courtesy of Hy-Vee, will include hot dogs, chips, watermelon, cookies, and bottled water.
     Other highlights include  a stilt walker, face painting, up-close animal encounters, and visits from the zoo's mascots. 
     The cost of Hy-Vee day is a zoo admission, it's free for zoo members.

     Try kayaking, fishing, archery, even laser gun shooting at the 2nd annual Outdoor University at the Outdoor Campus in Sertoma Park.
     The free event starts at 10 am and includes demonstrations of fish and game cleaning, live trapping and hunting dogs.

     Learn about downtown Pipestone, Minnesota's paranormal past during Summer Ghost Walks every Saturday night from now through Labor Day weekend.
     The tours begin at 8 pm at the Pipestone County Museum.
     The cost of the tour is $5 for adults, $3 for kids.

     The Homebuilders Association of the Sioux Empire is showcasing six amazing homes as part of the Dream Home Tour.
     The homes, located in southern Sioux Falls, range in price from $350-thousand dollars to more than $1-million dollars.
     Today's hours are from noon to 8 pm.
     Sunday's hours are from noon to 6 pm.
     Admission is $7.
