Saturday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     Eagles front-man Joe Walsh is the headline performer today at JazzFest.
     Activities at the free outdoor music festival at Yankton Trail Park begin at 8 am with the JazzFest 5K Run and Fun Walk.
     Music on the main stage begins at noon with the Hegg Brothers Band.
     There's music throughout the rest of the day with Joe Walsh taking the main stage at 10 pm.
     Fireworks follow at 11:30 pm.

     The Community Blood Bank is hosting the 12th annual Hog Wild Community Blood Drive from 7 am to 4 pm at Lewis Drug on 41st and Minnesota.
     People who donate between 7-9 am will receive free breakfast compliments of Camille's Sidewalk Cafe.
     Those who donate between 11 am and 3 pm will receive lunch compliments of the South Dakota Pork Producers.

     Tonight's free Moonlight Movie is Spider-Man, rated PG-13.
     The movie begins at dusk at Fawick Park in downtown Sioux Falls.
     Refreshments will be sold during the movie.

     The Trent Beach Bash is a benefit for the Trent Pool.
     Events include a free kids fishing derby starting at 9 am; a horseshoe tournament at noon and a cardboard boat race at 4 pm.

     Sioux Falls author Darrin Jon Johnson will sign copies of his book Hamster Day during Hurley Days.
     Johnson's book signing will take place from 9 am to 2 pm at Hurley City Park on Center Avenue.

     There are more than 40 hands-on activities, demonstrations and exhibits at the 1st annual It's All About Science Festival.
     It's at the Sanford Center in Sioux Falls from 9 am to 5 pm.
     Festival-goers can explore the U.S. Navy's Mobile Diving Unit.

     Several non-profit agencies will be at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds to provide a one-stop shop for kids activities and educational opportunities for the coming school year.
     Family Fest goes from 9 am to 5:30 pm and includes kids games and other entertainment.
     Family Fest is a fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network and The Banquet.
     Admission is $5, free for kids 14 and under.
