Sanford Health is revealing the design of it's new $494 million Sanford Fargo Medical Center.
The one-million square foot building will have 384 beds and is one of the top ten largest health care construction projects in the nation. Foundaton work on the building is already under way and next summer the steel will go up.
The project will be complete by 2017.
The new hospital is located on the south side of I-94 at the intersection between Veteran’s Boulevard and 51st Street in Fargo.
Sanford Health says the economic inpact of the hospital and a new medical clinic in the Fargo area will be more than $1 billion over a five year period.
700 to 800 workers wil be involved in the construction project.
Other Sanford projects include: $60 million Sanford Thief River Falls Medical Center, $17 million Sanford Moorhead Clinic, $8 million Sanford Bemidji addition and $20 million Sanford Dickinson Clinic. And all of these projects are currently ahead or on schedule.
Upon completion of the new medical center, Sanford Health will continue with its plans to remodel the existing downtown Fargo campus and expand the Roger Maris Cancer Center.
