We are only hours away from tip-off at the Sanford Pentagon between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Is the building ready for the sold-out crowd?
Sanford Pentagon officials are ready to create the ideal gametime environment for every ticket holder that walks through the gate. They are already impressing NBA team members getting their first look at the facility.
"We had some of their staff in this afternoon and they walked in and just like everybody else that walks into this facility, they just went 'Wow! This is amazing,'" Sanford Sports Complex General Manager Eric Larsen said.
From the court all the way to the locker rooms, everyone at the Pentagon is making sure it all looks perfect for the teams and the fans.
"I think it's really exciting for the fans of basketball in this town, just because they're going to have the opportunity to be so close to NBA athletes, great athletes and watch a game," Larsen said.
Getting that positive reaction from fans and players takes a lot of prep work, and some of it is just getting wrapped up the night before the game.
"A lot of it is finishing touches on cleaning up some of the areas. There was some painting going on this morning to get touched up. Just getting all the chairs and everything in place," Larsen said.
On Thursday evening, the Sanford Pentagon will be jam-packed with people ready to see the NBA tip off. Everyone is dotting the i's and crossing their t's, and everyone is excited or the Wolves and the Bucks.
"We've had a few small delays on smaller pieces of it, but all in all we're very pleased in the way its turned out and the time schedule," Larsen said.
It all begins Thursday morning with shoot-arounds and practice for both teams, and then tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
