Russ Janklow Recalls Father As Fallible, Generous

SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Russ Janklow acknowledges that his late father is "a fallible man."
At Wednesday's funeral service, Russ, who hasn't spoken much publicly since former Gov. Bill Janklow died Thursday of brain cancer, recalls his father as being both generous and argumentative. He says: "My dad's a fallible man. We're all fallible. Human beings make human-being mistakes."
Russ says his father repeatedly did what he believed was the "right thing to do."
Among his father's lessons: Don't be afraid of change, take risk for the future and do the right thing, even if it is not politically popular.
Our Savior's Lutheran Church is packed for the service.
Janklow is to be buried privately at a later date.
