The group that has raised millions of dollars for Mount Rushmore has gone to federal court in an attempt to obtain information about a parking garage it operates at the monument.
The Mount Rushmore Society says the Department of Interior and National Park Service are violating the Freedom of Information Act by not releasing a complete report on the parking facility.
The society has a 20-year contract with the park service to operate the garage. It expires in 2016.
The complaint says the government only provided a list of repairs to the structure.
Officials with the park service's regional office in Omaha declined to comment on the issue.
