Rock Valley officials are asking for assistance in clearing debris from homes and curbs as well as assisting residents and the city clean up grounds after the floods.
The town has a hotline (712-451-4357) that volunteers can call for more information. Officials are using the hotline to coordinate volunteer help to residents that need help.
“We have made great strides over the last several days," Mayor Kevin Van Otterloo said. "This weekend we are hoping to help residents clear items from their yards from things they have taken out of their homes."
Volunteers are needed to haul debris from homes. A dump site, located at Netherlands Reformed Church, will open for the weekend. Campgrounds and other city properties are also a main focus for officials.
“This will be our last organized push to collect a large amount of damaged items and haul them away," City Administrator Tom Van Maanen said.
