Two teenagers are charged in connection with Sioux Falls' latest armed robbery. But rather than boys, it turns out the suspects were female.
19-year-old Kelli Schlotterback and a 17-year-old girl are accused of holding up the Cubby's gas station at 49th Street and Western Avenue early Monday morning.
Schlotterback made her first court appearance on Thursday. The other suspect is a juvenile, so she was not in adult court.
The gas station clerk originally described the robbers as three 13-to-14 year old boys who got away in a silver Ford Freestyle.
"This is the first one I'm aware of where the people arrested for the robbery were females, and juvenile females," Lt. Matt Burns with the Sioux Falls Police Department said.
The judge set Schlotterback's bond at $10,000.
Police are still looking for the third person involved in the crime.
