Sioux Falls Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 2 p.m. downtown on Saturday, March 15.
Staging and de-staging will be from 5th Street to 2nd Street on Main Avenue. The area will be shut down at 10:30 a.m.
At 11 a.m., the 100 South Block of Phillips Avenue in front of First National Bank will be closed for the reading of the Proclamation and Painting of the Shamrock.
The parade route will be shut down around 1:30 p.m.
At 1:55 p.m., the ‘St. Patty’s Day Mile’ will be held. Runners start at 17th Street and Phillips Avenue, going straight north and end at 5th Street and Phillips. As a result, 14th Street will be shut down for a short period so that the runners can cross 14th Street.
The parade starts at 2 p.m. and should last an hour and a half. The route starts at 5th Street and Main Avenue heading south on Main Avenue to 13th Street. The parade then goes east on 13th Street to Phillips Avenue and north on Phillips to 5th Street.
Those driving downtown will be detoured around the parade route. You are encouraged to use 14th Street and North Drive as an alternative.
