Sioux Falls high school football teams will have an upgraded home field advantage when they hit the gridiron this fall.
The Sioux Falls School District cut the ribbon on Wednesday on the remodeled Howard Wood Field.
The upgrades include a new running track, grandstand seating, better access for people with disabilities and a remodeled press box.
“This old athletic shrine has definitely taken on a new shine today, I think that's the best way to summarize it and I can't be prouder of that,” Sioux Falls School District Activities Director Mark Meile said.
Renovation work on the century old field started last October. The upgrades cost $7 million.
