Restored Corvette Owner Loses Battle With Cancer
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The Sioux Falls man who had his 1962 Corvette classic restored by the community has died.  John Sweeney lost his long battle with cancer on Thursday.

For the past three years, we followed John as he watched his Corvette get fully restored.  Organizers of Automania got 25 businesses and dozens of volunteers to chip in.

John said his Corvette was his first love before he met his wife, Mickie.

Mickie says she wants to thank everyone who had a hand in making John's dream car come true.

John Sweeney was 61.
