SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Community safety and housing development were just a few topics discussed during the third annual Mayor's Neighborhood Summit.
Residents meet with the mayor and community leaders to share their thoughts and concerns in their neighborhood. Where some issues require action of city officials, residents identify the need to take initiative to better their communities.
“One thing we have learned being with the Whittier Residents Association for the last eight years is that partnership is everything. It does help, I mean, one person can make a change but when you get more people involved things can really happen,” Whittier Residents Association President Gigi Rieder said.
City departments and community service organizations were also on hand to visit with homeowners.
