The issue of human sex trafficking is becoming a hot topic in Washington and U.S. Representative Kristi Noem is very active in the cause.
Noem co-sponsored the “End Sex Trafficking Act of 2013,” which allows authorities to not just target the people providing the men or women, but also the people that soliciting the sex acts.
Noem believes that sex trafficking is an issue, even though it is not a highly talked about subject.
“They just don't realize how prevalent this problem is and what role the Internet has in providing these types of services to take advantage of children. So, I'm going to do all that I can to make sure we have all the tools in place to strengthen our laws, Noem said.
Coming up later on KELOLAND News, Leland Steva talks with about this issue.
