Remembering 'Dances With Wolves'

Remembering 'Dances With Wolves'
PIERRE, SD -

People in Pierre are getting ready to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first three filming days for the movie "Dances With Wolves."

Nearly 100 residents of Pierre and Fort Pierre were involved in the making of the movie.

Speakers will share their experiences at the mid-July celebration. Organizers say it will provide the opportunity for reminiscing.

Participants will visit Houck Buffalo Ranch southwest of Fort Pierre, where some of the film was shot.

Kevin Costner co-produced, directed and starred in the movie. He is not expected to attend the events.

He will be invited to next year's 25th anniversary of the film's release.
