If you woke up early enough, you might have seen some frost on your windshield this morning. Record breaking cold temperatures crept their way into eastern KELOLAND.
Sisseton barely broke its record from 1983 with a temperature of 28 degrees. Aberdeen hit 23 degrees, shattering their record of 29 degrees from 1929. In Sioux Falls, the temperatures at Joe Foss Field bottomed out at 23 degrees, crushing the old record of 32 degrees also set in 1929. This is also the latest Sioux Falls has bottomed out in the low 20s. Central and western South Dakota stayed a little warmer due to the overnight rain.
Good news is, Friday's lows are forecasted in the 30s and this weekend, highs are back in the upper 60s with lows in the 40s. And early next week, highs are forecasted to be in the 70s.
