Realtors are blaming our cold February and March for a decline in home sales in the Sioux Falls area.
Pending sales of homes were down 37 percent in March and fewer homes were on the market. But realtors say they're bracing for pent-up demand this spring.
"When we talk to the meteorologist guys, they're going to tell us it's been a pretty darn cold winter and we're starting to see a lot more movement. We're really well-positioned for a flurry of activity this spring and going into the summer," Brandon Martens, President of the Realtor Association of the Sioux Empire, said.
Prices on homes are up in the Sioux Falls area because the supply of homes-for-sale is down.
