RC Police Issue Warning About Credit Card Skimmers

April 10, 2014, 4:41 PM by Anna Peters

RC Police Issue Warning About Credit Card Skimmers
RAPID CITY, SD -

If you've filled up your car lately, Rapid City police want you to keep an eye on your credit card statement.

Someone installed credit card skimmers in numerous gas pumps in and around town.  The small devices steal credit card information when you swipe your debit or credit card.

The ones found in Rapid City are located inside the pumps, so you can't see them.  Police are working with gas stations to remove all of the devices.

At this time, police are not aware of anyone who has had money taken from their accounts.

If you do notice fraudulent charges on your account, you should contact your bank.
