Rapid City Woman Killed In Parking Lot Stabbing
RAPID CITY, SD -

Rapid City Police have identified the woman who died after being stabbed in a Walmart parking lot.

30-year-old Morgan Myers of Rapid City died Thursday afternoon.  Police say Myers was stabbed by 30-year-old Michael Young, also of Rapid City.

Police were called to Walmart around 3:15 p.m. for a reported stabbing.  An officer found Myers with multiple stab wounds in the parking lot.  Young was still there as well, but took off when police arrived.

Authorities chased after him.  Once he got to the Days Inn, he locked himself in a bathroom.  When authorities got into the bathroom, they found he had stabbed himself multiple times.

Young is currently in critical condition at Rapid City Regional Hospital; he is being detained by law enforcement at the hospital.

The case remains under investigation by the Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff's Office.
