February 24, 2004, 8:15 AM
A Rapid City woman says she's not guilty of having sex with three men without telling them she carries HIV.
The Pennington county state's attorney read Jennifer Hurlbut's indictment in court, charging her with five counts of having sex or intimate contact with three men over a three-year period. Thirty-three-year-old Hurlbut, is the first woman to be charged with intentionally spreading HIV since
The state legislature passed a law in 2000. The law makes it a crime to have sex without first telling your partner you have a potentially deadly virus.
Hurlbut faces 75 years in prison, if convicted on all counts.
