A student at Central High School faces weapons charges after an incident near Rapid City High School.
That school was put under lockdown for a time on Monday when 18-year-old Joseph Williams was seen in the parking lot with a handgun. Once authorities caught up with Williams, they discovered he was carrying a BB gun that resembles a handgun.
He was arrested for possession of a weapon on school grounds and disturbance of school, which are both misdemeanors. Williams is currently being held at Pennington County Jail without bond.
Detectives are still investigating what he was doing outside of Rapid City High School.
