Rapid City officials are warning about the potential of grass fires after it was determined that a blaze at a local park was the result of a campfire.
The fire at Wilderness Park Monday covered about half an acre.
Rapid City Battalion Chief Rob Powell says that the grass is starting to turn and burn "quite quickly."
Powell says the public should be vigilant and report brush and grass fires as soon as possible.
