Rapid City Marijuana Bust

August 24, 2004, 5:46 PM by Andy Harvey

A tip led Rapid City police to a house where they found almost 200 marijuana plants. They arrested 49-year old Steve Jackson, 19-year old Joseph Jackson and 47-year old Silvia Krueger Friday on drug charges. And the people who live in the area aren't surprised.

Neighbors who live near this house in north Rapid City says they've always suspected drugs were being sold there. They say they would see cars coming and going at all hours of the day. And now the arrests confirm their suspicions.

A tip lead police to find 190 marijuana plants and 20 pounds of marijuana inside the house. They also found a plant nearly four feet tall and two thousand dollars in cash.

Neighbors who didn't want to be on camera say this hits too close to home. But they're glad police stepped in quickly.

Meanwhile, Steve Jackson, Joseph Jackson, and Silvia Krueger are facing charges of possessing marijuana and an intent to distribute. They're out on bond.
