Rapid City Man Gets 45 Years For Killing Man
Charles Birdshead

RAPID CITY, SD -

A Rapid City man is going to prison on a 45-year sentence for shooting to death another man.

Charles Birdshead was earlier convicted of manslaughter for killing 33-year-old Eustacio Maruffo last January in the parking lot of the South Dakota Rose Inn.

Circuit Judge Wally Eklund sentenced the 31-year-old on Monday to 45 years for that crime. At the same time, he'll also serve two years for possession of a controlled weapon, 25 years for distribution of a controlled substance to a minor and five years for possession.
