28-year-old Daryl Espinoza was arrested Friday for the murder of a Rapid City man who was found dead in an apartment complex.
59-year-old Lars Greeley was found by a resident in a common area shortly after 5 a.m. on May 16. Police say Greeley was dead when they arrived.
Witnesses say that Espinoza and Greeley were drinking in an apartment with several other people when Espinoza assaulted Greeley, who also assaulted a second male who tried to stop the beating.
According to the preliminary autopsy report, the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
Espinoza has been charged with aggravated assault and second degree murder.
