Rainfall Totals: Some Below, Some Above

Rainfall Totals: Some Below, Some Above

More rain is on the way later this week, though it may be hard to believe, some areas can still use it.

There are still many locations that are below average, with Huron being one of the driest spots at four and a third inches.  There continue to be many locations with deficits of at least an inch to two.

Along with below average water so far this year, there are locations that are above average. Those locations are in southwest, central, and extreme northeast South Dakota. Southeast KELOLAND has been nailed with rain so far this month. Sioux Falls airport measured just under five inches through May.

So far this month, we've added five and a quarter inches. That's more than double the amount of water from the first five months of the year.  That rain has trimmed our departure from average by just over four inches.  We started the month at four and a third under, to being under just a quarter inch. And there's more rain in the seven day forecast.
