The sunshine will continue to melt the feet of snow in western South Dakota and just when a majority of it will be gone, Mother Nature will hit the west with a round of rain.
We'll have to watch the rain amounts closely for the west for possible flooding. Add an inch or two of possible rain and you can expect flooding for parts of western South Dakota.
Rapid City sits at the top of the list on computer models for both Thursday and Friday for rain with just under an inch, followed by Philip and then Spearfish. The numbers fall to about a one-quarter to one-half inch in central and northeast South Dakota with southeast KELOLAND receiving very little. Keep in mind, these numbers will change over the next couple of days as the storm track changes.
Along with possible flooding, severe weather will also be monitored, especially in Nebraska and south central South Dakota.
