Rain Doesn't Dampen Family Fest

Rain Doesn't Dampen Family Fest

Rain didn't stop the fifth annual Family Fest at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls on Saturday.

Inflatables and a magic show greeted kids, vendors introduced various resources to parents, and the smells of barbeque and carnival food tempted everyone despite the overcast weather conditions that the start of the day brought.

“This is our fifth year, and it started to be an event so that families could get resources in one place while their kids could have fun, also time with family, and then they can get resources, resources from doctors, chiropractors, weight-loss centers, I mean, stores, all kinds of, of things,” event organizer Courtney Vanderpol said.

The event rolled with the weather's punches, moving some of its offerings under shelter.
