Racers Raise Money For Feeding South Dakota

November 3, 2012, 5:24 PM

Dozens of people laced up their sneakers to fight hunger in South Dakota at the third annual Wabble n' Gobble race and walk event at Tuthill Park in Sioux Falls.

The event started three years ago with just ten runners but has swelled to more than 70.

One-hundred percent of the money raised by registration fees and raffle items will go to Feeding South Dakota to help hungry families in the Rushmore State.

"I think we did a lot of good. You know, one person could make this donation but it's nice to have a group of people united making the donation together," Race organizer Angie Kent said.

Last year at this time, Feeding South Dakota was short on food because more donations come in closer to Thanksgiving.

However this group wants to get a jump start on the holiday season by donating early.
