Since his arrest Friday for the murder of 56-year-old Kari Kirkegaard, we've heard that Christopher Kryger has had a violent past as he's been in and out of prison nearly his entire life. Two protection orders filed against him in late 2009 by two Sioux Falls women give a glimpse at the fear Kryger caused.
One woman took out a protection order against Kryger in December of 2009 and stated that Kryger told her that if he has to go back to prison, he is willing to kill. She also said she had to give away one of her pets because Kryger tried to strangle one of her dogs to death.
A second woman said in her protection order that he caught him looking in her childrens' bedroom window and said that he would take her boyfriend out of the picture so he could move in with her.
Kryger is charged with alternate counts of first-degree murder as well as rape after Kirkegaard was found dead in her bathtub on March 16.
He's being held on a $1 million bond.
