PENNINGTON COUNTY, SD -
Significant progress is being made in the clean-up of debris on roads, sidewalks, in Rapid Creek and along water ways.
All four divisions report that hazardous debris removal is almost complete. By the end of the day, hazardous areas in Rapid Creek will be mitigated from creek pass behind Mt. View/Omaha to Creek Drive.
With the possibility of additional rain or snow in the coming week, crews will continue clean-up around Rapid Creek. Excavators and the Pennington Water Rescue Team will work around Story Book Island removing all hazardous material that may cause a life safety issue.
Removal will continue on sidewalks and roads. It is asked that you stay off the bike path to allow crews’ room to work.
