December 15, 2011, 11:54 AM
MITCHELL, SD -
A badger that was badgering the staff at the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village has been trapped and euthanized.
Site director Cindy Gregg says the badger had been digging holes to try to get at gophers that live at the village. Game, Fish and Parks conservation officer Andy Petersen says it also was digging up artifacts.
The badger was found in a trap on Wednesday and put down.
