A Sioux Falls retirement community is expanding.
Avera Prince of Peace, which is located south of 52nd Street, is adding a 2-story, $25-million addition.
“We are serving the need for quality care. We're expanding the number of our rehab suites, we're adding more space for therapy plus new space for outpatient therapy,” Administrator Justin Hinker.
Other updates include a larger chapel and an expanded kitchen.
When the work's complete, Avera Prince of Peace will also have its own "main street" complete with a bank, general store and deli.
To help pay for the project, a community campaign is underway.
