President's Budget: $4.5 M For Lewis & Clark

President Barack Obama's proposed budget for 2013 includes $4.5 million dollars for the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System. That's a fraction of what the project needs.
The federal government still needs to pay $194 million to complete the project that will provide drinking water for communities in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.
South Dakota Senator John Thune had some sharp criticism for the President's proposal.
"There is no way at $4 million or $5 million a year that we can come anywhere close to putting a dent in completing this project, so it's another major disappointment," Thune said.
Officials with the water project say if they continue to get just $4 million a year, the project will not even keep up with inflation and will never be completed.
