Potato Creek Johnny Nugget On Display In Deadwood

The Adams Museum in Deadwood is getting ready to permanently display one of the largest gold nuggets ever found in the Black Hills.

A special chance to see the Potato Creek Johnny nugget is being held Friday.  The Deadwood History Executive Director says they expect it to go on permanent display sometime this month.

The Potato Creek Johnny nugget was found in 1929. It weighs nearly 7.4 ounces.

The director says the nugget is a Black Hills icon and should be viewed and enjoyed by the public.
