SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Two popular types of birth control pills are being recalled over concerns they may not be as effective in preventing pregnancy.
The drug maker, Pfizer is voluntarily recalling 28 lots of Lo/Ovral-28 tablets and generic Norgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol birth control pills which come in long rectangular, pink packaging.
The company initiated the recall after it was discovered the blister packs may not contain the prescribed amount of hormones necessary to prevent an unintended pregnancy, or the tablets may have been placed out of order in the sequence.
