SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Sioux Falls police say a 17-year-old girl is in protective custody after her guardian asked her to prostitute herself and make money to help pay bills. Autumn Dubray, 24, is charged with promoting prostitution of a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Officials say Dubray invited over five men Friday night and asked the teenager to have sex with one of them.
"The juvenile had said that Dubray has been having sex with men for money, and apparently Dubray made a comment that she wanted the juvenile to have sex with men for money as well to, I guess, help out to try to get more money for them to live on," Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens said.
According to court papers, Sioux Falls Police responded to the apartment on West 43rd Street around 4 a.m. Saturday morning for an overdose/poisoning call. The 17-year-old was drinking, had reportedly taken several pills and told authorities she no longer wanted to live. Through questioning, they arrested Dubray.
The 17-year-old girl and Dubray's 5-year-old daughter are in protective custody. The juvenile was living with Dubray under court order.
