Police Investigating Sioux Falls Woman's Death

March 17, 2014, 4:19 PM

Police Investigating Sioux Falls Woman's Death
Kari Ann Kirkegaard

Sioux Falls police are investigating a death in the central part of the city.

Emergency crews found the body of Kari Ann Kirkegaard at a home on South Garfield Avenue Sunday evening.  Police say the 56-year-old woman lived alone.

An autopsy Monday morning found the manner of death to be consistent with homicide.

Detectives discovered Kirkegaard's bedding was missing from the home, so they are asking people to check their garbage containers for anything unusual.

If you find anything out of the ordinary or if you had contact with Kirkegaard this past week, you are asked to call police.
