Police say it only took one door to give burglars easy access to several area businesses.
"When I pulled into the parking lot, the police were down at HuHot. So I figured something was going on," Tanna Loder, the Man Salon manager, said.
On Wednesday morning, Loder discovered suspects broke into the salon and stole more than $600 from the back office.
"Probably about 20-30 seconds. He was just in and out," Loder said.
That is not the only crime. Authorities say the suspect, or suspects, also hit HuHot, Papa Murphy's and Try it Again. The stores are all in the same strip mall near Scheel's in Sioux Falls. Authorities say they got into a back hallway connected to all of the stores, and then got into each separate store. They moved down the street and broke into All About Travel and Innate Chiropractic
"We've seen this before. It's not uncommon, you know, you have this common hallway and once you're in that common hallway. You're on the backside of the business. So, you know, you have time to, you know, do what you're going to do," Cpt. Greg Vande Kamp, Sioux Falls Police Dept., said.
Loder said surveillance caught a glimpse of at least one person who did this.
"We have a picture of somebody, you know? Not just, you know, our is gone and whatnot. I'm hoping they will find them," Loder said.
The break-in has made Loder and her employees a little nervous, but she said the crime will not affect them for long.
"The thing that's positive about it is nobody was here when the burglar was in the salon. Nobody was harmed. It could've been worse. We're just thankful nobody was here," Loder said.
