Police in Mitchell have arrested a 36-year-old man accused of leading officers on circuitous 15-mile chase that ended in a cornfield with the use of a Taser.
Mitchell Police Maj. Leon Baier says Johnathan Daulton was arrested Friday on charges of drunken driving, aggravated eluding and open container charges.
Authorities say they tried to pull over Daulton's car but he refused to stop and drove through Mitchell neighborhoods. Pursuit speeds occasionally rose to 100 mph after Daulton headed into Hanson County.
Police say Daulton eventually drove into a cornfield and became stuck near a fence on the north side of Interstate 90. Police say they used a Taser when he refused to get out of the car.
Attorney information for Daulton was not immediately available.
