The spring storm has left a couple of inches of snow for plows to clean up Friday morning.
According to Watertown Highway Patrol officer Scott Price, the conditions are very icy in northeastern KELOLAND.
“Well the weather appears not exactly what we want to see for April 4th. We had a little bit of freezing rain and light snow throughout the overnight and having some very icy road conditions. Our recommendation is that you take your time when traveling through Watertown and slow your speed down and give yourself plenty of time to slow down and coming to a stop when approaching an intersections and stop light,” Price said.
In Sioux Falls, some contractors started their shift very early Friday morning. They were out clearing the parking lots at several local businesses.
Tim Dykstra focuses on six commercial parking lots, while others spend time clearing residential areas.
“I was saying this cannot be snow this late. I retired my shovel. I put it in the garage and said enough is enough. One of the things I always tell my neighbors are if you don't like the weather here, you can always move. But I like the four seasons but it's this, is getting late enough and it's time for spring to come and time to plant flowers and get the grass growing and get the mower out instead of the snow blower,” Dykstra said.
