Plane Explodes In Crash Near SF Airport

SIOUX FALLS, SD -
KELOLAND News is on the scene of small, five-seater plane crash near the Sioux Falls Airport Regional Airport.
A witness at a nearby Sioux Falls business tells KELOLAND News the plane came straight down into the ground and exploded. There was billowing, black smoke coming from the plane. That witness also called 911.
The plane crashed near 60th Street and Westport Avenue. KELOLAND News has seen emergency crews at the scene and the flames were put out.
Sioux Falls police have blocked off most access roads to the crash sites.
The plane was heading from Sioux Falls to Rapid City and was registered to a company in Ipswich, South Dakota.

Authorities said a 16-year-old student fired a gun at the school Wednesday morning. Law enforcement said the injury was a flesh wound.

Authorities did not identify the victim, but described him as a 16 year old from Minnehaha County.

The teenager found dead on Interstate 90 has been identified as an O'Gorman High School student.

At 10:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies found a body at Interstate 90 and North Kiwanis Avenue, near the Interstate 29 interchange.
