A Sioux Falls limousine company is in the stretch drive to help raise breast cancer awareness.
There's no shortage of stares when you're behind the wheel of a 27 foot long pink stretch limousine.
"A lot of looks, a lot of second looks, a lot of wow! Look at that," limousine driver Dave Rowe said.
Stellar Limousine bought this colorful car at a limo show in Las Vegas last month.
"We saw this limousine, the pink caught our eye like I think it catches everybody's eye," Stellar Limousine Owner T.C. Olson said.
The limo's hot pink radiates luxury to its passengers.
"It has two DVD monitors, an intercom system, wine ports, ice chests. Obviously, a pink interior with a light show that you almost need sunglasses," Olson said.
Olson isn't saying what he paid for the limo, but the pink paint job alone cost $15 thousand.
The limo was custom-built for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliate in Nevada. And now Stellar Limousine will donate a portion of the vehicle's rental fees to the South Dakota affiliate.
"This is just one more avenue that we can create awareness right here in Sioux Falls. It gets people talking and that's definitely what we want," Susan G. Komen for the Cure South Dakota Affiliate Director Mary Kolsrud said.
Don't let the pink fool you. This is no dainty drive.
"Your first thought would be only women, only girls, bachelorette parties, birthdays. But because it's a Dodge Challenger, and it has a little rumble to it, surprisingly, the guys like it as well," Olson said.
A muscle car fueled by pink power to raise breast cancer awareness. And that's no stretch.
"We aren't sure exactly where that's going to take us, but we think it's going to take us in a good direction," Olson said.
Stellar Limousine ran a Facebook contest to identify the pink limo. The contest winner is donating a free ride in the limo to a breast cancer survivor this spring.
