The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Forest Service are hosting three pine beetle spraying workshops in the Black Hills over the next few weeks.
The workshops will focus on the benefits and methods of treating trees to protect them from mountain pine beetles. Attendees will learn about spraying techniques and chemicals used.
The first workshop is Friday at Hudson Hall in Spearfish from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The second workshop is Saturday at the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Department's Outdoor Campus West in Rapid City from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The Crazy Horse Memorial near Custer will be the site of the third workshop on March 9 from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
All landowners are welcome to attend.
